Brief & Result
Our brief for this apartment was to transform the space from a functional rental property into a cosy pied-à-terre to be used by the client when they are in the UK and for their children when home from school and university.
Inspirational art sets the colour palette and form for the apartment’s design
The colour pallet and textures were inspired by two pieces of artwork the client purchased for the property. These became a feature in the living room and entrance hall, both visible when entering each space and they provided initial inspiration for the design of the overall apartment scheme.
The organic shapes brought in by the curved sofa, rug and circular dining table contrast with the sharp window angles to add softness to the space. This was further enhanced by the addition of some intricately detailed floral ceramics which we sourced to add fluidity to the living room wall.

Clever custom joinery to display personal items and house a hidden drinks bar
Bespoke joinery can really transform a room by not only providing a focal point to the room but also providing storage, housing the TV and AV equipment whilst clever design conceals all cables and sockets behind a hidden access panel.
For this project, we added a charming little drinks bar into the joinery unit. The addition of LED lighting with glass shelving and an antique mirrored back brightens the spaces and highlights the beautiful glassware we sourced for our client.
We also ensured there was space for important personal items and objects collected during our client’s travels to be displayed. Additional built-in lighting creates a soft glow and cosy atmosphere during evenings or those grey winter days.

Boutique hotel touches to each bedroom
Our client is a frequent traveller and took influence from boutique hotels for the bedrooms with oversized, bespoke headboards covered in rich patterns and velvets. In the second bedroom, we designed a full-width headboard with a considered electrical layout to accommodate two single beds which can be joined together to make a king sized bed when required for ultimate flexibility.
Storage was also integral to the design and the inclusion of ottoman beds added valuable hidden storage perfect for spare linen, luggage and seasonal ware.
Warm and inviting entrance hall with personal touches
We love designing entrance halls and creating that comforting welcome home feeling, this was especially important for our client when visiting from abroad. By adding a textured wall covering we softened the space and the feature floor-length mirror bounces light into the room whilst giving us a peek into the living area beyond.
