Bermondsey
Apartment
Project
Abigail Reay was appointed to lead the design and project-coordination for this project, an apartment located within a warehouse conversion in Bermondsey with 360-degree views over London.
The project scope included installing a new heating and hot water system and improved insulation and acoustic flooring to minimise noise transmission.

Brief & Result
The client's brief was to strip out the existing bathrooms and kitchen and to fully modernise the property throughout to create a light and bright home. In addition, they wanted to express their personality through the use of warm colours which would blend with their soft furnishings to create a comfortable and harmonious living space.
Maximising Views over the City
We redesigned and reorientated the kitchen to maximise the available area providing a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the views. The introduction of colour in the kitchen together with the soft earth tones throughout the apartment reflects the client’s wishes and creates a lovely warm and contemporary home.
Creating a Harmonious Environment Through Lighting and Textures
Existing lighting was replaced with wall lights and bespoke track lighting in the bedrooms and living areas to provide flexibility between ambient and accent lighting and to create a softer environment. The introduction of low-level and niche lighting in the bathrooms creates depth and highlights the profile of the tiles to create warm and relaxing spaces.
The addition of the feature textured panelling on the walls and ceiling in the hallway transformed a dark corridor into an inviting entrance, setting the tone for the rest of the apartment.
